I just wanted to write you and let you know what a great asset Richard is to your company.  I truly appreciate his professionalism, sense of humor, and willingness to work whatever hours needed to do the job.  I have worked with plenty of other service engineers in my career who are not nearly as eager to please the customer.  I really appreciated the fact he showed up on time or early, he was very attentive the whole time he was here, and he did great training my people to the same thing on three different occasions so he could accommodate everyone else’s schedule.  I am sure you hear plenty of negative feedback, so I just wanted you to hear a positive from time to time.  I look forward to working with him in the future for our yearly PMs and whatever other issues may arise.

I just want to mention something about the recent service here at PCC Airfoils, here in Eastlake Ohio.

Bill was here last week, and serviced two of my CMMs. This was his first time here at Eastlake. Bill represented himself very professionally, well dressed, and respectful of all our safety requirements – Safety glasses,  and steel toe shoes. He was also respectful of my inspection requirements, and made an earnest effort to have the CMM in an operating condition (if possible) for 2nd and 3rd shifts, even if the problem was not completely resolved, or waiting for parts.  Only to come in the next day, and tear the CMM apart. The amount of tools he has, and spare parts, is uncanny. Who else carries a small shop vac? A mini microscope????

I understand Bill is relatively new at Nikon. I feel he’s a wonderful service tech. Obviously, well trained.

Between Bill and Adam, I have great coverage for the CMMs here at SMP.

When working on machines as complex and delicate as a CMM there will often be complications. Such was the case last evening, the 2nd and 3rd shift operations at HyPro’s  Elisabeth St. plant were at risk after routine preventive maintenance.  When this happened, Nikon Metrology demonstrated that extra effort makes them stand out, and got the CMM back in operation. Special thanks to Rob and Brent for that extra effort. Brent returned to fix the issue at 6:30 PM and kept HyPro’s CMM in operation!

I’d like to say that I’m very pleased with the performance of the new XTH 225 system. The improvement in imaging resolution over the older system we were using is dramatic and has made important contributions to numerous analyses this year.

We’ve experienced several hardware issues this year; a bad hard drive in the acquisition PC, and problems with the video cards in the reconstruction PC. The support provided by Nikon Metrology to correct these issues has been outstanding.

I just wanted to send you an email to let you know how much we (especially myself) appreciate the good work that Mark does. I have seen him, twice earlier this year, drive the three hours up here to work on a CMM only to fix it in a matter of minutes, and then have to make the return trip home.   I even remember him stopping in once, shortly after we had purchased our first LK CMM, just because he was passing through the area and wanted to check to make sure everything was going well with our CMM.

Our XC65D Digital Laser Scanner has my engineering department in awe at the speed and accuracy in which I can scan a part. We were running an XC50LS and the difference is night and day compared to the XC65D.  This was one investment that will have no problem paying for itself.

We had a rough start with scanning.  From software to equipment, Nikon Metrology worked with us the entire time. The Nikon Metrology team really pulled together to figure out our situation and get us up and running.

When I have to call Nikon Metrology I am always greeted with a hello. Even if I don’t know who I need to talk with, someone from the Nikon Metrology team always does. And when we have an issue with an invoice, the Nikon Metrology team works with me to get the problem resolved.

I can say that the Nikon Metrology team goes above and beyond. I am grateful to have the Nikon Metrology team on our side.

Just a quick note to let you know how great it is to have Rob here working on our equipment.  Many of your guys provide good service, but Rob has gone above and beyond all week communicating with me and the guys regarding what he is doing, the status, what he is finding, giving feedback, giving recommendations, etc.  Tim and Jerry have been in the room since you installed the equipment 10 years ago, but Rob has still been sharing observations and information that will help all of us.  We appreciate this because it helps us understand the equipment better when we call for advice or support.  I’d consider Rob “the best of the best” for service.

We don’t often take the time to express our gratitude for a vendor’s support, so I wanted to let you know that we sincerely appreciate Nikon’s continued support of our VMR 3020 system programming.  Michael Kireyev’s visit this morning proved very helpful to us for understanding how to use the power of the system to resolve some critical part measurement issues.

Vicount would like to say thanks to the Team at Nikon (Metris) for the continuous help and support for our LC50 Scanner that we purchased 6 years ago.

Alex Lucas and the crew have gone beyond their means to help launch a successful scanning system on our Brown & Sharpe Global CMM.

The LC50 Scanner has enabled Vicount to shorten our turnaround time for jobs, while collecting massive amounts of data to either analyze or reverse engineer the parts.

We are able to reverse engineer details or parts for customers with a turnaround time of 3 days, compared to 7 days previously.

It has been a pleasure working with Nikon (Metris) for the last 6 years.

I just wanted to take a moment to credit one of your employees with what I consider to be service above and beyond the call of duty. Adam  is your Field Service Engineer who normally comes to our facility to perform calibrations and service on our CMM. In the short time I have known him, he has proven himself to be a caring and capable technician who is always willing to help.

This past Saturday, our line was asked to come in to work to help with a production issue. I encountered significant trouble with our CMM software and couldn’t run the machine, and as a result I was stopping the line. After exhausting all other possibilities, I reluctantly decided to text Adam. He called me immediately and talked me through finding and fixing the problem. I am guessing he had better things to do on his day off than deal with me, but he did it anyway. It’s people like Adam who make the difference, and you can be proud to have him on your team.

I wanted to take a minute to say that Randy was great.  He knew almost immediately what the issue was with our Integra.  He not only got it back to where it needed to be, but took the additional steps to make sure that the rest of the machine was right.  Checking the air flow for the air bearings, he found that the X Axis drive alignment also need tweaking.  Again, thank your team for me.  Your support is greatly appreciated.
